Tracy Arm is a fjord which extends back from Stephen’s Passage (the route to Juneau) into the Coastal Mountain Range. It is a thoroughly intriguing site as it twists and winds its way through 16 miles of mind-blowing scenery. Cruise ships head into Tracy Arm to visit the twin Sawyer Glaciers at the head of the fjord and the journey down the fjord is like walking down a narrow ice-studded hallway with steep walls that climb thousands of feet skyward from the water’s edge laced with glacial blue waterfalls. At the head of the fjord the twin Sawyer Glaciers calve off huge ice blocks into the bay – a spectacle to behold.
Sea lions, eagles terns, kittiwakes, mew gulls and mergansers are a regular site making Tracy Arm a truly magical and intimate experience.
