Cruise + Land Tour = Cruisetour

Most people who go to the trouble of travelling all the way to Alaska are understandibly keen to stay around for a while once they are there rather than flying home as soon as they disembark their cruise ship. Knowing this, the cruise lines have set themselves up in the land tour business, offering a number of exciting land-based tours that can be tagged onto the beginning or end of your cruise experience.

Enjoy the best of both worlds with a fantastic Cruisetour which combines all the luxury and excitement of your glacier cruise along the coast of Alaska with a 3 to 12-day land tour adventure into the magnificent Alaskan interior, Canadian Rockies or the Yukon Territory. Available before or after your cruise, these land tours take you to wilderness regions rarely seen by others, travelling by luxury motorcoach and aboard custom-designed, glass-domed traincars with overnight stays in top city hotels or wonderful wilderness lodges.

Cruisetours are complicated travel packages that cannot yet be booked online. If you would like to book a Cruisetour package or have any questions, please call one of our Cruise Concierge and they will be happy to help you plan your trip.

Alaska Cruisetours

A wonderful way to explore Alaska's amazing interior, Alaska Cruisetours operate either North or Southbound. Most Northbound Cruisetours start with a 7-night Alaska Glacier Cruise departing from Vancouver and ending in Seward. Once you disembark in Seward, the land tour sector of your Cruisetour begins.

Southbound Alaska Cruise Tours, on the other hand, start with the land sector where you will generally fly into Anchorage or Fairbanks and see the sights before transferring to Seward where your ship awaits for your Southbound Cruise to Vancouver.

Alaska Cruisetour itineraries vary by cruise line, and you can choose from hundreds of different tours depending on your interests and budget, however, a majority of Alaska Cruisetours include travelling inland from Anchorage, deep into the six million acres that make up Denali National Park where you'll discover deep forests, tundra, mountains, wonderful wildlife and as a backdrop to it all, Mt. McKinley, America's highest peak.

Canada Cruisetours

There are two types of Canadian Cruisetours offered either before or after your cruise – Canadian Rockies Cruisetours or Whistler Cruistours.

Canadian Rockies Cruisetours are specifically designed to complement your Gulf of Alaska or Inside Passage cruise, with a five- or six-night land package which takes in the unspoiled scenic beauty and vast mountain ranges of British Columbia and Alberta. Majestic mountains, dazzling ice fields, and Western's Canada's most celebrated national parks highlight all Canadian Rockies Cruisetours. You'll visit the natural wonders of Banff, Jasper and Yoho national parks, plus such attractions as the alpine city of Banff, the brilliant glacial waters of Lake Louise, a snowcoach tour of Athabasca Glacier, the Olympic city of Calgary, British Columbia's Kamloops, Vancouver, and other local highlights. Canadian Rockies Cruisetours include travel aboard the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer railroad which winds its way through the mountain ranges. Unlike any other railroad in the world, you'll experience spectacular scenery, pristine wilderness preserves and national parks during your fully narrated journey from the spacious comfort of your reclining seat on the Rocky Mountaineer.

Alternatively shorter 3-night Canadian Cruisetour packages are also available with some cruise lines which take in Vancouver and the premier resort town of Whistler located at the base of the beautiful Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. There are endless activities to enjoy, from hiking, biking, canoeing and even summer skiing.
